Caprin Orin Meditation Bell - White
The Caprin is an orin — a Japanese meditation bell — shaped like a small hand bell and made of forged brass in Takaoka, Japan, by one workshop since 1938.
To ring it, lift the bell. Underneath stands its mallet, shaped like a roly-poly toy with a beech-wood tip. Tap the outside of the bell against the tip of the mallet. After each strike, the mallet sways gently back and forth, so you can watch the movement while the tone fades. When you're done, set the bell back over the mallet to store it.
Playful and easy to use at any age, the Caprin suits a living room shelf or a bedside table. Ring it at the start and end of a yoga flow or meditation, or to close your evening routine. Available in Gold, Silver, and White.

- Place the Caprin on the included pad on a flat, stable surface.
- Lift the bell. The mallet stands underneath.
- Holding the bell, tap its outside gently against the tip of the mallet.
- The mallet sways after the strike. Let the movement and the tone settle on their own.
- Set the bell back over the mallet to store it.

Does ringing a bell clear the energy in a room?
Many traditions have described the sound of a bell as clearing or purifying a space. We don't claim any measurable effect of that kind. What the Caprin produces is sound: a clear tone that lasts a few seconds.
Why use the included pad?
Setting the bell on the pad lets it ring longer, because less of the vibration is absorbed by the surface underneath.
How do I care for it?
Dust it lightly with a soft cloth. Rubbing it with a hard cloth, or while it is dusty, can leave fine scratches. Don't use solvent-based cleaners; they can damage the finish.
